An audiogram is a vital first step, but it doesn't tell the whole story. The way we hear and understand speech can vary a lot from person to person and from situation to situation. That's why we use a range of different tests, tailored to each person's needs, to get a more complete picture of their hearing.
From the first contact to the personalised fitting, every detail is thought of to ensure your maximum satisfaction.
We begin by finding out about your hearing history, the difficulties you experience in your day-to-day life, and the situations in which you find it most difficult to hear and understand.
An audiometry test is just the first step. We assess your hearing using a range of tests, selected to suit your needs, to gain a more comprehensive understanding of how you hear.
If a hearing solution is recommended, we will suggest the options best suited to your hearing loss, communication needs, lifestyle and expectations.
We programme and adjust hearing aids on an individual basis, taking into account your hearing loss and your experience of using them.
Once the hearing aids have been fitted, we use real-ear measurements (REM) to objectively assess how well you are hearing sounds in your own ear. This information enables us to personalise the fitting, adjusting the hearing aids to suit your hearing loss and the way sound is actually reaching your ear.
The fitting process does not end when the hearing aids are handed over. At AudioCare, follow-up care is part of the process right from the start. Follow-up appointments are scheduled from the outset, allowing us to monitor how you are getting on with your hearing aids, assess your experience of using them, make any necessary adjustments and ensure that the hearing aids continue to meet your needs. In addition to these scheduled follow-ups, we are available whenever you need support, maintenance or a further adjustment.
